The more I study highly dominant fighters, the more I see recurring patterns to their overwhelming success.

Consistency

Khabib (29–0) on doping & training:

“My doping are to train, to train, to sleep, to eat, to train, to sleep, to eat, to train, to repeat.”

Mastery of the basics

Usman (19–1) on his training:

“There is no game plan. We come in here and we work, we do what we do. We keep it simple, stupid.”

This really reinforces the idea that there’s no shortcut to success.

There’s no growth hack, no secret techniques that you have to pay courses for.

Master and practice the basics with consistency. This applies to every area of life.

In jiu-jitsu there is a culture of looking down on beginners who attempt fancy advanced moves without learning the basic movements that take up 80% of the sport.

I can now clearly see the reason why.

When I work with my clients to help them launch their ecom business. A percentage of them are always on the lookout for hacks and tricks. They never succeed.

My business doubled in a month after a period of stagnation by CHOOSING to focus on the basics.

We looked at the reasons why someone would want to start an ecom business and put all of our energy into making it happen for our clients.

Don’t worry about others, get better at the basics.
